Enable Waste Transfer Notes

One of the most requested features across the TMS among both new and existing customers, is the ability to product a waste transfer note. We are happy to finally confirm this is now available within your TMS.

How do I get one?

Any customer account can generate a transfer note instead of a standard delivery note by adding the keyword WTN to any order. However, there are specific fields on these notes that you will need to complete in order for them to be legally acceptable.

What do I need to do?

A WTN can replace any delivery note and/or ePOD regardless of the data available. However to make it fully compliant there are some details you will need to enter to prefill:

Depot Settings

Under the depot settings (admin only) you can now enter your waste carrier details. This will be populated for all OWN driver deliveries

Auto-set WTN tag, will automatically enable the note replacement feature when all fields are set.

Product Settings

Within the product settings, the key field is the waste code box. This displays on the WTN as a separate field. You must also display on the document the container type used for transport. We recommend this is input in the Product name if fixed, or subname if it can change between orders.

Location Settings

Finally, within the location settings, we have created a new tab for Waste Details as shown below. For all collection points, a SIC Code is required. Whilst for delivery points a Waste Permit Number should be entered.

One all of the above are entered, waste transfer notes will be generated automatically for you. As a quick summary to generate a WTN the below is required:

  1. Product Waste Code
  2. Collection point SIC Code
  3. Delivery point Waste permit number
  4. Keyword WTN on each order

This will then automatically replace the delivery note with our new WTN.
