All About Locations
Locations are a key part of the order system in TransMaS. All orders link to a central location database to allow reuse of locations and analysis through the process.

- Begin typing your address in the top input box which will give an autocomplete of options

- You can change the town name displayed by selecting the radio button on the right of the address input.
- Optionally, enter a What3Words key
- You can enter additional information on the Contact Info and Waste Details tabs as required
Entering contact phone numbers to a contact will allow the drivers to contact the site via the app
Setting the precise location
TransMaS will automatically encode the location you set with google to locate the coordinates for the site. However in many cases the HGV entrance is different to the public entrance. To account for this you can set a custom location for drivers to use in the app. This can be set in a number of ways.
What3Words
What3Words is a system that allows you to pinpoint an even more precise location than just street address - it uses 3 words to identify a 3 meter square. To use What3Words in TransMaS:
- If you do not already know the what3words for your location, go to the What3Words website and input your address in the search.
- From there you can zoom in on the map and select your precise location.
- Enter the what3words into the location detail screen.
- Once you save the new location, or click update on an existing one and reopen it, and it will show a blue pin at the precise location.
- The what3words will be shown to the driver in the app, and when they click on Map it will navigate them to the exact pin.
Manual Pin drop
By clicking the globe icon on the location listing, you can set a precise location. Click anywhere on the map provided and a blue pin will be placed, this can then be dragged around as required.
This screen is also displayed during order creation when a location is not confirmed.
Editing a Location
To edit a location you can reach the Edit Location screen from multiple places. The primary list of locations is available from Settings > Locations, where you can then search and select the relevant site. Additionally, from within an order you can click the open button to the right of the order location to open the Edit Location modal quickly.
Beyond what you filled out when creating a new locations, there are additional options available in the Edit Location modal.
- Input the location's hours
- Add collection and delivery notes
- Specify an email address to send ePODs sent to.
- View aliases (which are created from Pending Orders.)
- Create a user for the site manager. Click Generate User and log in details will be created and displayed. This gives the site manager access to a portal which will show them details about collections and deliveries due or on-route and additional information about bulk orders.
Location aliases
Location aliases are other names for a location. These occur with pending orders. For example you may have the location entered as Business Name Ltd. whereas the other company you integrate with just calls the Business Name, without the Ltd. On your pending order screen, if a location does not already exist in your system, you can click the blue Link box create an Alias to link to an existing location.

When and how to use pseudo locations
It is an option to create a new location from the order create or edit screen, or select from a list of existing locations, but pseudo locations makes it so you don't have to, and can create the new location as a separate process. Pseudo location turns the location field into a free text box. They do not work for bulk orders and must be changed to a real location before the order is confirmed.
Pseudo locations do not provide full system functionality so should only be used when your customer is unable to provide you with full details until such a time they can be changed to a full location.
To use a pseudo location, click the blue Use Pseudo on top of the location input box.
The label on the box will switch to Pseudo Location and you can then type in any text you want.
The yellow warning sign is there to warn you that you cannot confirm an order that is using a pseudo location. It must be changed to an actual location before the order can be confirmed complete in the Order Confirmation screen.
