Adding Instructions for Drivers
Sometimes you need to have your drivers sign off that they have completed an activity that is not part of an order. For this task we created Instructions which can be added to any Load. There are three kinds of instructions you can send to drivers in TransMaS. They are all available from the Load Detail screen.
- Standard Instructions
- Free type Instructions
- Predefined Instructions
Adding Instructions to a Load
To add all 3 types of instructions to a load, you can follow the steps below:
- Open up the Load detail screen. This can be accessed from most Scheduling pages by clicking on a load in a listing. See Managing Loads to learn more.
- Click Instructions in the top right of the panel. This opens a drop down of available instructions
Standard Instructions
Standard instructions are pickup trailer, drop trailer, pickup vehicle, and drop vehicle. Clicking any of these in the menu will give you further options:
- Select which vehicle/trailer
- Whether you want this to change the driver's default allocation (on pickup instructions)
- Location
- Comments
- Time restrictions
- Whether to confirm line - this is toggled by default but if you un-select it, it won't send the instruction to the driver until you confirm the line.
Free-type instructions
This can be anything, and you can free type your own instruction title and comments, but there are some options to select from here such as location, time restrictions and whether to confirm the line. If there are certain instructions you send regularly, you can create it as a Predefined Instruction instead of retyping the same information every time.
Predefined Instructions
Predefined instructions are a standard instruction but customised with your needs so that it can be reused over and over again without filling out the additional information each time.
